The HSM must be in the offline or secure state for configuration of the Management port.
The Management port is an Ethernet port used only for management of the HSM. If connection to the host is via Ethernet then the Ethernet host port is used for that purpose.
Enter CM <Return> (Configure Management) to initiate the following example in which user input is shown underlined.

Default settings for the Management port are meaningless and before first use must be changed to values suitable for the local connection. Once set, the values are retained as the new default values until they are changed again by the CM command.
